There are many Christmas events taking place in Lichfield this year and these four events take place in and around the Market Square in late November and early December.
- Lichfield Christmas Fayre – Sunday 21 November in central Lichfield, 10am to 4pm
The Lichfield Christmas Fayre is lovingly organised by Lichfield Chamber of Trade and Commerce every year on Market Square, Lichfield. It has been running for over 50 years and is a hugely popular and well attended event.
Due to its popularity and the success of the last few years, the Chamber have not only got stalls on the Market Square, and rebooked The Hub at St Mary’s on the Market Square as per 2019, but have also booked the main upstairs room at the Lichfield Guildhall on Bore Street, to increase the size of the market and the number of stalls. This will be a great extra boost for the event as it gives visitors a chance to get in from the cold and carry on shopping in the warm, but also to see how absolutely beautiful it is inside both of these wonderful buildings. Expect to find a traditional Christmas Market with beautiful hand made gifts, tasty food, drinks and charity stalls.
There will be loads of entertainment such as the Lichfield Rock Choir, The Salvation Army Band, Three Spires Morris Dancers, the Lichfield Lighthouse Company, the Great Wyrley Community Band, local singer Jordan Adams etc etc
There will be some children’s fair rides, naughty little Christmas elves and some free entertainment for the little ones too.
2. Lichfield Christmas Fayre – Sunday 28 November, Market Square, 10am to 5pm
Lichfield City Council provide the Christmas illuminations across the city. The lights ‘switch on’ is preceded by events on the Market Square, with a festive market on the Market square, organised by CJ Events.
A fun-packed day for all the family. There is a festive food and gifts market, fair rides, music and an entertainments stage.
The lights are switched on at 5pm and this is followed by the arrival of Santa. Lights ‘switch on’ organised by Lichfield City Council.
3. The Lichfield Festive Producers’ Market – Sunday 5 December, Market Square, 10am to 4pm

4. The Lichfield Christmas Food and Drink Festival, city centre streets, Saturday 11 December 9am to 5pm and Sunday 12 December, 10am to 5pm
Returning for another year, the Lichfield Christmas Food and Drink Festival is back bigger and better than before. After the success of the summer food festival, Lichfield now has their annual Christmas food and drink festival which is free for all guests and has over 160 stalls to browse. Held over two days, Saturday and Sunday, visitors can browse, sample and buy food, drink and craft products from the 160 stalls. The stalls feature local produce including cheese, chocolate, ale, crafts and jams which will make excellent Christmas presents for your loved ones.
With plenty of stalls to browse featuring local produce and festively themed products, the Lichfield Christmas Food and Drink Festival is the perfect way to get into the festive spirit. So whether you need to finish off your Christmas shopping, stock up for Christmas festivities and parties or just fancy browsing and getting into the Christmas spirit, this free festival is fun for everyone. There will also be plenty of chance to enjoy some hot and cold food at the festival, indulge in a hog roast, hot turkey and stuffing sandwich or some roasted chestnuts. Sip on a glass of mulled wine, pint of cider or hot chocolate to feel all warm, fuzzy and Christmassy. Organised by Cocker Hoop Creative.
