Press Release: Update on Performances at Lichfield Garrick

Following government guidelines, Lichfield Garrick has taken the difficult decision to continue with the temporary closure of the venue to the general public.

Lichfield’s arts charity can now confirm that shows through to the end of July have been cancelled or postponed. If you have tickets for shows in this period the theatre will be in touch with you about your tickets. Should you not receive an email or phone call by next week please get in touch at Garrick@lichfieldgarrick.com

This is a worrying time for all, especially the arts industry. As an arts charity, the theatre’s income is based on activities that cannot take place during lock down. Income such as ticket sales, hires and catering. We would like to thank our patrons for their support in donating their ticket price to Lichfield Garrick theatre. We understand that this is an extremely difficult time for many and this option is not possible for everyone. Any support that has been shown, be that a retweet on Twitter, some kind words on our Facebook wall or a donation to us, is gratefully appreciated.

The theatre is committed to helping the community where it can during this pandemic. We have donated large amounts of food and drink that had a limited life span to Lichfield’s Helping Each Other – Lichfield and Surrounding Areas. Should you need support please do not hesitate to get in touch with them on 07506 581055.

Together, we will get through this and welcome you back to your theatre. Please be assured that you can make bookings for future productions secure in the knowledge that should a show be cancelled you will be able to get a full refund on your ticket. All future events are still on sale and we are optimistic about continuing with the rest of our programme.

“We hope you and your families are continuing to stay well. The team are missing welcoming you to the theatre and having incredible shows on your local stage. We look forward to the day we can all meet again. Stay Safe, from all of us at Lichfield Garrick.”

Karen Foster, Chief Executive.
